The Nicollet PTO has chosen their 2018 Nicollet’s Hope Ambassador. When the PTO took over the Nicollet’s Hope walk it was our goal to use it to bring the community together for a fundraiser for the PTO and family’s and or groups that the community can get behind to show true Nicollet Hope.
This year we will continue to walk for one of our own, This year it is for a Husband, Dad, Son and Friend of people in our community.
This years ambassador is Ben Kettner. With this walk a portion of the funds will be given to the Ben Kettner family. The walk will take place Saturday morning during Friendship days. More details to come. If you would like to assist in the planning of the event please let us know by reaching out to Jill Martens or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Here is a little information about Ben that was shared on the upcoming Benefit page:
Ben Kettner (39), a loving husband and father born and raised in Nicollet, was recently diagnosed with stage IV metastatic lung cancer, following an unexpected weeklong stay in the hospital that was prompted by a blood clot in his leg, shortness of breath and chest pain. Comprehensive testing has since revealed the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes, bones (spine, ribs and hip) and several spots on the brain.
Ben will likely be starting a course of treatment to prolong his health in March 2018.
Ben resides in Nicollet with his wife, Naomi, and their three young children, Samantha (12), Jaxon (6) and Ryder (2).
